This week was the District's Caliber Awards, where the Teacher of the Year, School Employee of the Year, Principal of the Year, and Assistant Principal of the Year were named. This event always proves to be a great time to recognize the hard-working individuals at each school. I was so proud to be there to celebrate two of Gator Run's most inspiring individuals, Sara Crowther and Lisa Sweeney. During the ceremony, our Superintendent, Mr. Runcie, spoke about two teachers who have been teaching for over 50 years. One of those teachers spoke with such passion about her career that it was truly inspiring. Her speech made me think again about the book that we spoke about at the beginning of the year, Teach Like a PIRATE. I was so inspired by this book that I wanted to share it with all of you. If you have one of my copies of the book can you please return it to me? If you would still like to read it, I will share it with you once I receive my copies back.
- Next week is Staff Appreciation Week. Let's all celebrate!
- We have a Faculty Collaboration next Tuesday after dismissal.
- Team Leader is next Wednesday. Let's start thinking of some things that we need to ensure remain in place for next year and some things that we would like to change and/or update.
Quote of the Week -
"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." - Anne Frank. Thanks to Mr. P for sharing this one with me. I love this, as it ties in with the message on the whiteboard outside my office this week - "What will you do today that your future self will thank you for?". Change someone's life today!
